In other words, it is unnatural and therefore inappropriate for a man to have long hair. Is it a stretch to similarly conclude that it is natural, hence fitting and proper and -- dare I say -- biblical and preferable, for a man to have a beard?

If not, why the heck does facial hair keep growing back when we shave it off? And why don't you see many women sporting beards and goatees?

Perhaps I am taking too much liberty here (read eisegesis), but pro-beard O.T. passages seem to support my conclusion. I won't be admonishing my beardless Christian brothers for their shaving habits, but I can't help but wonder if nature itself is trying to teach us something. ;)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8838646.post-1150374526792849392006-06-15T05:28:00.000-07:002006-06-15T05:28:00.000-07:00Bubba,Doth not even nature itself teach you, that,...Bubba,

Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?

Hmm... not sure how that might apply to beards. Perhaps you can elaborate?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02038713225742735363noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8838646.post-1150341584443079152006-06-14T20:19:00.000-07:002006-06-14T20:19:00.000-07:00Don't know how much one can say about a beard eith...Don't know how much one can say about a beard either, but I just thought I'd express my opinion that 1 Cor. 11:14 is a good N.T. pro-beard proof text. Granted, there are O.T. verses that are more explicit, but I think this'll do. What say ye?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
